"The Whipps will film a concert-style video in support of their upcoming debut single "Play That Country Music" for Sony Music Nashville. The band is issuing an open-call invitation to fun, energetic music lovers of all ages to come out and rock with The Whipps in their first country music video.
The video will shoot on Wednesday, May 2, at the historic Columbia Music Arena, 832 Gallia St. Portsmouth, Ohio. The open-air, concert-style venue holds 1100 people. Doors open at 5 pm, and shooting will start at 7:30 pm. Admission is free.
This major music video will air on CMT and GAC, so be ready to represent.
Please wear country or hip-hop style attire, and please no clothing with logos, neon colors, or advertising due to copyright infringement rules."

So many great things have been happening lately it's been hard to keep up!
Here's the latest -
The showcase at the Exit/In turned into the big break of our career. In January, we started working with producers Russ Zavitson and Terry Shelton on a single for Sony Nashville. And it's finished! There's no release date yet, but we're in pre-production planning for a video to go with the song, and it will be shot on location in our hometown area and also in Nashville. Stay in the loop at The Whipps Facebook page and find out more information on when and where you need to be to take part in filming the video. We want to see you there!

For the next couple of months, we are adding new music to iTunes. Preview now! July 1, 2011 releasing to radio and the web the new single, "No Place I'd Rather Be." A summer song about sand, sun and margaritas - its already a hit in The Whipps live shows.

The Whipps Adding Players to Live Lineup
The Whipps welcome multi instrumentalist Ed Price on banjo, steel and acoustic guitar AND drummer Greg Fletcher, formerly on tour with Billy Ray Cyrus and the Sly Dog Band. Also, featuring special guest Bud Carroll of American Minor on lead guitar.
